My friend "Dr. Mike" mentioned Beck today, so I put on Mellow Gold, which I haven't played in quite some time. Had to share this song, it's one of my favorites from the album.
Ummm...if you hadn't guessed, NSFW language
I had the fortune of seeing these guys perform live, their skill is truly amazing.
I somehow missed the "Butters' Bottom Bitch" episode in Season 13 of South Park. Thankfully, having the full episodes online combined with occasions to sit through a full episode, I've been able to catch those I may have missed.
If you've not seen this episode, I highly recommend it. The language is not beeped or otherwise edited.
This song brings back a lot of memories... The sound quality of these PiL vids in Bochum is impressive.
Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins cuts the throat of an innocent giraffe to show God how stupid His intelligent design was.
First seen in 1980, the Mandelbrot set really comes to life in 720p. Personally, I prefer to mute the audio and listen to Shpongle, or something along those lines.
"Good honest, hardworking people...continue to elect these rich cocksuckers who don't give a fuck about them. They don't give a fuck about you. They don't give a fuck about you, they don't care about you, at all...at all...at all! And nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care, that's what the owners count on, the fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue dick that's being jammed up their assholes every day. Because the owners of this country know the truth, it's called 'The American Dream,' because you have to be asleep to believe it." -- George Carlin.
Rest in peace, motherfucker.
This one is a slow-builder, but worth the journey. Natacha's voice is just beautiful, and such a contrast to the percussion.
A couple weeks ago I was listening to the new AIR cd while working, and began to remember the one time I saw them live at the Nokia Theater in Grand Prairie. They were a five-piece band on that tour, and their energy really blew me away.
The Almighty Google revealed the following live AIR performance to me, leading me to discover KCRW, and more importantly, the Morning Becomes Eclectic show.
Since that discovery, both Morcheeba and Massive Attack have played, and according to the MBE schedule, Gorillaz will perform on 18 Aug 2010.
And lastly, an older AIR performance.
